Scheme of Work

With your booking you will receive a free scheme of work written specifically for Key Stage 3,  which explores the concert theme and content.  It contains seven individual lessons that can be delivered in the classroom by the class teacher,  alongside recordings of some of the repertoire (specially recorded by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra) and additional resources to support the lessons. It will also introduce the performers and provide relevant background information to prepare for your visit.

The Key Stage 3 scheme of work also includes the lyrics and a video children should use to learn our specially commissioned song,  which they will sing along with during the concerts. The video will also include  British Sign Language to support teaching the song.

The scheme of work allows learners to develop knowledge and skills linked to the national curriculum and will enhance their experience at the concert.

“Really well thought out range of activities. The background information was useful and having the links ready to go was excellent – it made the lessons accessible for us.”
Primary Teacher, Key Stage 2 Schools’ Concerts, 2022

“I particularly love the PowerPoint slides. They provided background information on the orchestra, instruments, conductor and so on. I also find it beneficial that the children had the opportunity to listen to the songs before our visit.”
Primary Teacher, Key Stage 2 Schools’ Concerts, 2022

Our scheme of work has now been released. You will receive a copy via email within 10 working days of your booking.
