Liverpool organisations join forces to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Monday 6 June 2022

David M Robinson (DMR) and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society are pleased to introduce a unique diamond brooch, designed to mark the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Commissioned by Liverpool Philharmonic and presented to Her Majesty The Queen - the organisation’s patron - as a gift to mark this momentous occasion, the collaboration celebrates the longstanding links between Liverpool’s largest music organisation and the family-owned jewellery designer.

Internationally renowned jeweller DMR proudly calls Liverpool home and has been a supporter of Liverpool Philharmonic for over 20 years. This latest chapter in their partnership wonderfully celebrates the best of British manufacturing and the finest talents of the city’s exports.

This one-of-a-kind piece of diamond jewellery brings together several key design elements which celebrate Her Majesty and this special milestone, whilst telling the story of Liverpool Philharmonic and its musical heritage.

  • Crafted from 950 grade platinum, a nod to The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and bearing the Platinum Jubilee hallmark
  • Draws inspiration from Liverpool Philharmonic Hall’s streamline moderne style - an international form of Art Deco architecture of the 1930s
  • Round brilliant cut diamonds arranged in the position of the opening notes of ‘God Save The Queen’ in sheet music
  • Features a large white pearl as an ode to Her Majesty’s personal style and jewellery collection
  • Made in-house by DMR’s artisans, bringing together their design and manufacturing teams.

John Robinson, Managing Director at DMR commented, “It has been a pleasure to collaborate with our friends at Liverpool Philharmonic on the design of this bespoke piece of jewellery for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Not only does it mark this unique occasion that we are celebrating here in the UK, but it also reaffirms a genuine friendship that we have shared with the organisation for many years. We believe that the Liverpool Philharmonic remains one of the jewels in Liverpool’s musical crown.”

Michael Eakin, Chief Executive of Liverpool Philharmonic, said: “We were delighted when David M Robinson, one of Liverpool Philharmonic’s Premier Sponsors and long-standing supporters, presented this unique idea to us.

“Her Majesty The Queen has been Patron of the organisation since 1958. Liverpool Philharmonic is grateful for Her Majesty’s continued support, and we send our congratulations and well wishes on this special occasion.”

ENDS.
