Friday 2 February 2018

This Sunday 4 February at 2.30pm, Liverpool Philharmonic will be live-streaming a concert performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vasily Petrenko.

A glorious programme of classical music includes the high-octane humour of Walton’s Partita, Grieg’s much-loved Piano Concerto performed by the Japanese  virtuoso,  Nobujuki Tsujii before Petrenko and the Orchestra bring their consummate skills to Tchaikovsky’s  epic Symphony No. 4

With only a few tickets remaining for the concert on Sunday, music fans can share in the thrill of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in performance by watching the live stream, presented in partnership with Classic FM here.

Find out more about the music in the concert by reading the programme notes here.

The Orchestra’s last live –streamed concert on 21 January, with Petrenko and the Orchestra joined by violinist Julian Rachlin can be viewed again here.

To date, it has been viewed 95,000 times and reached 677,000 people with 16,000 reactions, comments and shares with viewers from as far afield as Texas, São Paulo, California and the Philippines.

After this Sunday’s event, Liverpool Philharmonic’s next live stream will be on Thursday 26 April, again featuring pianist Nobujuki Tsujii, ahead of a major seven concert date tour the Orchestra and Petrenko will undertake with the star soloist to his native Japan in May.

Chief Conductor, Vasily Petrenko commented: “With our recordings and broadcasts, concert live-streaming is a fantastic platform to share the fantastic music-making of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, here in our great city,  with audiences across the UK and internationally.”
