Welcome to the 2024/25 Season

In a programme packed with sensational concerts and standout soloists, there’s plenty to look forward to this season.

Now in his fourth season with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Chief Conductor Domingo Hindoyan presents a selection of epic symphonies. Over the year, he’ll be bringing us Mahler’s First and Third, Beethoven’s Eroica, and the next instalment of his exploration of Bruckner’s symphonies, this time taking on the Ninth.

Having stunned audiences here at Liverpool Philharmonic over the years, we’re thrilled to announce baritone Benjamin Appl as our Artist in Residence. This season, we’ll not only see him sing, but also take to the podium as conductor.

The one and only Sir Bryn Terfel returns in Belshazzar’s Feast, pianist Angela Hewitt performs Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.9, and soprano Sophie Bevan takes on Mahler’s Fourth Symphony and a new work by Grace-Evangeline Mason. Following incredible performances last year, we can’t wait to welcome pianists Víkingur Ólafsson and Simon Trpčeski back to Hope Street, and to see trumpeter Pacho Flores reunite with Domingo for more music from Latin America.

And of course, our seasonal celebrations will be back, with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir uniting with the Orchestra for our annual Spirit of Christmas concerts and Handel’s Messiah. Throughout the season, the Choir will also perform Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast, Mahler’s Third Symphony and Verdi’s Requiem
