First Violin
Adopted by Linda Harrison
Yorkshire born and bred, Becky has been playing the violin since the age of three. Born into a musical family, Becky learnt a variety of instruments growing up and spent many Saturday’s with her parents and brother at Harrogate Music Centre. On being taken to watch her first symphony orchestra rehearsal, Becky proceeded to put her hands over her ears and declare it "too loud!".
Becky joined the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in 2009 and has fond memories of her first course playing Shostakovich 5 conducted by Vasily Petrenko here on the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall stage. She went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music and Royal College of Music with Maciej Rakowski.
After a few years freelancing with the orchestras ‘up north’, Becky joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 2019. Soon after, Becky and her husband moved to the Wirral and spent lockdown decorating their new house and getting to know their new neighbourhood.
Fun Fact:
Becky is proud to be 5ft 1 (and a half!), goes to gymnastics, enjoys a dip in the uni pool across the road and loves getting in the wind tunnel to learn new indoor skydiving skills!
