The adult Choral Societies from Birkenhead and Formby come together again with about 100 boys from Merchant Taylors’ School in Crosby to present the 13th in their series of collaborations. This time they perform Mendelssohn’s majestic Elijah. The Old Testament story is told with dramatic and delightfully melodic music, with four soloists and a full symphony orchestra joined by a chorus of some 300 singers. For many of the boys, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and one they will surely never forget.
