In 2019, two of the Northwest’s premier local orchestras joined forces for the first time for a truly memorable performance of Richard Strauss’ Alpine Symphony.  Now, the collaboration continues as both orchestras take to the stage for Gustav Holst’s stellar journey through the cosmos.  Joined by ladies from Liverpool Welsh Choral, there will be up to 150 performers involved in the performance!

In the first half, CSO start off the afternoon with Britten’s ever-popular Young Person’s Guide, whilst WSO welcome back local pianist William Bracken in a performance of Prokofiev’s vibrant 3rd piano concerto.  Conducted by Jonathan Small, it is sure to be an afternoon to remember for all concerned.

Tickets for this event include a £1 venue restoration levy, included in the ticket price. This fee supports building investment at the Grade II-listed Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
