Follow the yellow brick road all the way to Liverpool Philharmonic who are hosting the perfect family film day this April, showing the magical musical The Wizard of Oz, accompanied by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (Saturday 18 April, 2.30pm and 7.30pm).
Audiences will see their favourite songs from the iconic film given a new lease of life under the baton of conductor Anthony Gabriel supported by Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. The Wizard of Oz is a musical featuring Judy Garland, first released in 1939. Since then the film has become a household favourite all over the world. Audiences can also attend a free pre-concert talk (6.15pm in the Music Room) with Anthony Gabriel and BBC Radio Merseyside’s Angela Heslop ahead of the evening screening to get some expert insight into the night’s main event.
The Wizard of Oz: Film with Live Orchestra is on Saturday 18 April at both 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets cost from £25 per person and are available to buy online or through the Box Office. The Classic Intro is free to attend from 6.15pm in Music Room for all concert ticket holders.
