Revueltas: Redes Suite
Stravinsky: Firebird Suite (1919)

Carlos Miguel Prieto: conductor
Ning Feng: violin

23 February - Post-concert Question Time
Starts 15 minutes after the concert in the Music Room
Violinist Ning Feng and conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto answer your questions about the performance.

Everyone loves Elgar’s nostalgic Cello Concerto. But if you haven’t heard his Violin Concerto, you only know half the story.

Elgar poured all his hopes, memories and dreams into this one heartbreakingly beautiful masterpiece and to play it today we’ve re-invited the Chinese virtuoso Ning Feng. Our Orchestra players think he’s a bit of a legend – and when you hear him, we think you will too!

Then guest conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto dives headlong into a very different kind of fantasy: the eerie darkness and dazzling light of Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite.
