NYOS, Scotland’s national youth orchestra presents the world premiere of a new concerto from Jay Capperauld, one of Scotland’s most innovative young composers, in celebration of their first international tour in almost 10 years.
NYOS are thrilled to be joined by accordionist and BBC New Generation artist Ryan Corbett who will appear as soloist in Capperauld’s exciting and macabre new work, inspired by Luigi Galvani, an 18th-century physician whose experiments influenced Shelley’s Frankenstein. Featuring Scotland's most promising young musicians, the NYOS orchestra will be conducted by their Music Director Catherine Larsen-Maguire in a spectacular programme also featuring Anna Clyne’s This Midnight Hour and Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique.
