Haydn Te Deum in C
Vivaldi Gloria
Ian Tracey conductor
Lee Ward organ
Tonight we hear two choral masterpieces performed by 38 members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir with organ accompaniment. First Haydn’s Te Deum which unusually has no soloist role but features the choir only. This bracing and breezy work written for the Empress Marie Thérèse was one of Haydn’s last compositions. Many composers have written music for a Gloria but Vivaldi’s is arguably the most famous. From the first bar it is guaranteed to lift the spirits of any listener.
Please note the capacity is very limited (c. 330 seats total) and seating will be done on a socially distanced (2 metre) basis. To book single tickets please call the Box Office on 0151 709 3789.
