Hackney, 2233: a woman walks into a tattoo parlour. Her body is already covered with tattoos, but she wants one final piece: a thin line of ink and blood that connects her body art together to form a unique map. If you were to follow it, where would this mysterious journey take you?
The Night Alphabet sweeps geographies and timespans. It is gripping and dazzlingly original – a bold investigation into violence, resilience and women’s stories by 2021 T.S Eliot Prize winner, Joelle Taylor.
Joelle Taylor is the author of four poetry collections. Her recent C+NTO & Othered Poems also won the 2022 Polari Book Prize and is being adapted for the theatre.
This event is the world premiere of The Night Alphabet and part of WoWFEST 24.
