Based in Glasgow, Gerard Love spent three decades playing bass guitar and contributing songs in Teenage Fanclub. He released a solo album, Electric Cables, in 2012 under the moniker Lightships. With Dave McGowan, Bob Kildea, Tom Crossley, and Noel O’Donnell he has rebranded as Gerard Love & The Magic Influence and is currently in the process of making a new album with Bill Ryder-Jones at the controls. In live shows, the setlist includes a variety of Love’s songs from the Teenage Fanclub era, the Lightships album, and some new compositions.
