This tour marks the first time Madeleine Peyroux will perform her iconic Careless Love album front-to-back in concert. Originally released in 2004, Careless Love shifted Peyroux from the exclusive jazz realm into the mainstream arena, and it remains her most popular release, featuring covers of tracks from the likes of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan.
Raised in Brooklyn and Paris, Peyroux is often referred to as ‘the Billie Holiday of the ’90s’ and frequently compared to artists such as Ella Fitzgerald and Edith Piaf.
Her first album, 1996’s ‘Dreamland’, launched to rave reviews and was even declared by Time magazine as “the most exciting, involving vocal performance by a new singer” that year. Since 2004’s Careless Love, Peyroux has continued to challenge the confines of Jazz with her further albums that have garnered critical acclaim, including 2006’s Half The Perfect world, 2009’s Bare Bones which charted at No 12. In the UK, Standing On The Rooftop in 2011, and The Blue Room in 2013.
