The Pretenders

Plus guests The Picturebooks

Following a series of “iconic” (Evening Standard) sold out shows last year, The Pretenders are back on the road with a headline theatre tour to accompany the release of their new album Relentless. Their highest-charting record in over 20 years, the album’s "persistently brilliant songwriting” (MOJO) has been met by high critical praise, with The Telegraph calling Relentless “one of the most thrilling things you’ll hear all year”.

The raw power of The Pretenders’ current live show has gripped audiences since the band began debuting new music at gigs early this year. Performing at London’s Lafayette in February, The Guardian found The Pretenders “as sharp as ever, with new songs stealing the limelight from classic hits”. The band launched the Relentless album headlining Brighton’s The Great Escape Festival, kicking off a UK club tour and treating fans to unreleased new songs and scatterings of hits.

Their surprise performance at Glastonbury, featuring special guests Johnny Marr and Dave Grohl, was received as a highlight of the entire festival weekend. Having performed at London’s BST Hyde Park and BBC Radio 2 In The Park, the band also recently accompanied Guns N’ Roses for huge outdoor shows across the United States.

Tickets for this event include a £1 venue restoration levy, included in the ticket price. This fee supports building investment at the Grade II-listed Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
